Playing with Photoshop Actions

Photoshop makes pictures look pretty. ♥ I am always amazed at how different the same image can appear, and evoke such varied feelings.

Original photo, taken yesterday at Goodale Park in Columbus, Ohio. Magnolias are beautiful trees, and one of the oldest species of trees in existence.

These next three all started with the same action applied, which I layered back over the original photo and changed the layer settings. Three very different effects, even from the same action!

I think the Gavinfree Softly and Lighten is my favorite of the bunch, but they are all so pretty.

  1. Love these! I notice when I'm playing around in photoshop that I gravitate towards a dark contrasted look - so my favorite of these is the Gothic Glow action.

  3. Absolutely gorgeous! Maybe you should add some photography products to your etsy. ;) I'd totally buy several of them to hang around the house. I like Kalifbane's Cross Coloring Medium action and Gavinfree's Softly action with lighten.

I can't wait for the Columbus Arts Festival - we need some color up in this hay-owse.

  5. Wow! Are actions only something you can use with Photoshop or can you use them with Photpshop Elements, do you know? I love the Fresh and Colourful action from Pioneer Woman and also the middle of the last three. Two very different photographs!
