Profile pictures

The explosion of social networking across the world has helped me meet so many interesting people--- especially via my blog, Twitter and Etsy sites--- and I absolutely love making new contacts. But, I have to confess: I have a very poor memory for names/faces/logos. I admit I get confused at times if someone uses different pictures on their Facebook, Twitter, or profile pics when leaving comments. Some use pictures of themselves in one place, and a logo in another... Nothing wrong with that! The internet is ALL about image management, and having contacts quickly associate an image with your content. But for the memory challenged among us, it's tough. So, since I am "Jannypie" in every place online, or a version of that, I decided to have just one picture across the board!

These pictures are courtesy Erin Johnson Photography, who took a break from child portraits to snap these for me, and patiently get exactly the quality of light I was hoping for. And then made them look soft and grungy just for me!

This is the one I've picked to use for my profiles, so anywhere you see it, you know you are getting Jannypie!

Thank You cards

These are two cards I made for family members, to thank them for their hospitality over Thanksgiving. I made them with Photoshop, Inkscape and SCAL on my Cricut. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family as well!

It's Never Too Late (I)

itsnevertoolate1

A year ago, one of the truly genuine people I've ever met gave me a book of inspirations, about moving beyond the past, believing in yourself, and creating a new future. It is called It's Never Too Late... by Patrick Lindsay.

Coming in 2010, you all will be invited to see the result of a year of making these inspirations part of my world view.

Leading up to the new year, I am going to share some of my favorite quotes from this book as digital art creations. Feel free to print them or save them however you wish.

I will not be joining any art shows, nor adding new items to my shop, until the new year. Many changes will be unveiled, and I will need your support to help me make them successful. Until then, I am giving 10% off to all my blog readers on anything in my Etsy store - just mention "It's never too late" in your notes to seller, and you will be refunded the difference.

Thank you for being a part of my inspiration. If we believe, things can change. Change is coming...

Good stuff on the intertubes

Some of my favorite things lately!

I went through a McDonald’s drive thru and said “I can has cheeseburger?” There was a pause before I heard “Nom Nom Nom” on the other end.

I made this with an acrylic paint base, paper, sanding, ink, transfers, and then I painted watercolors over the whole thing.

OHIO ROCKS!

I love Ohio.
I was raised here, and though I have travelled far and wide, I chose to make it my home.
Ohio has a richness of land and people that is very often underappreciated.
As part of the handmade arts movement and Generation Y, I want to use my creations to bring more inspiration and creativity to my state.

My OHIO ROCKS design is inspired by the logo of the Indie crafts documentary "Handmade Nation" and being a "rock-chick" at heart. It's pretty much a bold, graphic way of showing how cool I think this place is.

It goes well with my earlier vector-style design, don't you think?

OHIO ROCKS and CBUS VECTOR ART are available as prints on 80% recycled high quality paper. There will be more items with these designs available soon soon soon! To order any of these, check out my Etsy store or email me!

SPECIAL NOTE!

PART OF ALL SALES FROM THESE DESIGNS GO DIRECTLY TO THE MID-OHIO FOODBANK TO SUPPORT THEIR EFFORTS IN FIGHTING HUNGER IN OUR COMMUNITY.

I give you a huge THANK YOU in advance for any purchase you make of these designs, for the help you give to this cause!
