Erin Johnson Photography Blog Design

I have been working with childrens and family photographer Erin Johnson on a new blog to display her pictures. Erin designed the banner, logo and color scheme herself, and had a vision of what she wanted her blog to look like. Working together, we've created a fresh, modern blog to display her amazing images.

I used my own blog setup as a base, and built from there. As you can see, many changes were made! Rather than having sidebars that distract from the photographs, Erin chose a 1 column layout, leaving the pictures as the focus. I put blog widgets at the bottom as a footer, so they are still available (subscription links, etc).

During this design I learned:

  • how to add a second main linkbar spanning the blog
  • how to add a welcome message that appears only on the home page
  • how to add in-line comments with colored backgrounds to make them stand out

It was wonderful to have this opportunity to help Erin develop the new look for her business. Please check out her site and leave comments for her!

jannypie hearts: cute handmade baby stuff

Yes it's true, I admit to loving cute baby stuff, even though my husband and I are not in baby-making mode yet. And no, it doesn't make me want to have a baby. But yes, it does make me say "awwwwwww" and think about buying it for the 1,000 women I know who DO have babies.

A brand new etsy store and blog from my pal Savvy Sarah Designs- cutest owl fabric ever. Sarah has long been a pro scrapbooker, and now she's starting a new venture making baby items. Make sure to click on her website and check it out, and leave some encouragement!
