RSS Readers (Blogging cheat sheets!)

My newest most fabulous discovery: RSS readers. Specifically, Google reader. For those of you who are as new to the blogging world as I am, let me let you in on the secret. You can see every new post on every blog you like to read, all in the same spot, as they're updated. You don't have to go around to each different site, forgetting some, getting confused.

"In computing, a feed aggregator, also known as a feed reader, news reader or simply as an aggregator, is client software or a Web application which aggregates syndicated web content such as news headlines, blogs, podcasts, and vlogs in a single location for easy viewing. "

^ahhhh wikipedia users (circular definitions, i'm disappointed) but you get the idea

I currently have 39 blogs I read. But it's so easy, for two reasons:
1. The reader, so I dont have to go looking for posts.
2. I mostly read decorating and craft blogs, so by "read" I mean "skim and look at the pretty pictures". Thus it takes me less than 20 minutes a day to stay current on all of them.

In addition to Google reader, some others available are
Google Reader
Google News
Planet aggregator

K Just thought I'd share a tip out there for those who don't know (and leave a teensy hint to add me to your subscriptions!) :-)

*Edit*: According to this Lifehacker article, I'm a year behind in the news! HAH! That made me giggle, I'm ok with being behind the times. Just doing this whole thing at my own pace. :-)

  1. I just started using one and already I love it! So much easier than trying to remember all the sites :-)
